Dokan Karate Club

The first, DKA Northern League tournament tomorrow morning at Temple park leisure Centre. John Reid Road, South Shields. Doors open 9.00am.

A sincere thank you to the 20+ adults and dozen kids that turned up to help out setting up today, a really great team spirit.

This is a grassroots competition to encourage newcomers and it is only possible with the help of some knowledgeable top class referees, so I owe them a debt of thanks too.

I have a load of great photo's from our tournament taken by Jack Renwick, but the file is to large to share. So here are a couple, along with the clubs medal table. I would like to thank everyone who entered and the referees who turned up to help create a proper grassroots event and ensure a fair day for all. Gratitude to my lovely students parents who manned the tables and helped set up and clear away and everyone involved with the entire thing. You made a lot of children happy and a lot of parents proud.

Our next competition in South Shields is October 27th, but first we have round two of the Northern league in Leeds on the 21st of April, as well as competitions throughout the year. Exciting times ahead as the kids bond together to build a new Dokan super squad.
