Christmas Party 2014
New venue, new kids, new games and some new trophies for a new club. Things move on for Dokan and just keep getting better.
Almost 200 people turned in for this years party which makes it possibly the busiest yet and the kids had a fantastic time playing games hosted by Sensei Kev and doing party dances before the award ceremony began.
The rest is the usual stuff; we present all grading certificates before handing out our array of large annual trophies and grading trophies. The night finishes with a game of Ship Ahoy which is a bingo style game, the idea which we borrowed from a caravan park.
Some prestigious certificates were awarded, e.g. Shodan and Nidan certificates, but the one that got the most attention was Katie Hunnam being awarded Elite squad status.
The Elite squad membership is as sought after as your first dan black belt. Well done to Katie.
These events seem to get harder and harder to organise. Thanks to all those that helped. The night raised a significant amount for the club funds.
