Traditional Shotokan Karate in Sunderland, UK

Charity Walk

Many thanks to all of Dokan's parents and friends who turned out to do Sunderland's organised big walk on Sunday the 21st of September.

The Walkers

On an overcast but thankfully dry day over 25 made the effort to do the 6 and a half mile walk up the banks of the Wear to Washington Wildfowl Park where a shuttle bus waited to return us to the Glass Centre, where we set off from.

Chilling OutI don’t know the exact number of people taking part but estimate about 300 and who was the first across the finishing line? Answer: Carl Bone and Tammy Proctor (everything is a competition for Dokan folk).

We enjoyed the walk so much we fully intend to do it again next year.

Afterwards Sensei Kev had a barbecue and invited all the club's students to attend. It was a busy day of christenings so many were unable to get there, never-the-less those that did had a nice relaxing afternoon sitting round the burner till dark chatting while the kids played.

We will post what the walk made when all the money is collected in.
