TASK Open Competition

Returning from Glasgow after the British Open International by coach and on a wee buzz after such a great event, I started thinking of our next competition in 2015 which seemed too long a wait for a tournament fanatic like myself.
The following day I received a friendly phone call from the TASK competition organiser Mark Raistrick who was very keen for us to attend his event. In a rush I gathered names and organised an entry of 20 Dokan students for that Sunday. We only had five days to sort everything which kept everyone busy.
On arriving at the event premises we were told that C.E.K. were attending too. Gone were the thoughts of easy medals as they had a larger entry than we did. The day started well (although behind schedule) and the new venue is far better than the old TASK venue.
We had a few low grade entries new to external comps along with some of my more experienced squad - and they needed that experience as the Scots were there to win. The day was busy and basically ended up a Dokan v CEK comp. We finished winning 53 trophies between my 20 students and possibly would have won more if we had not kept coming up against my own kids in the second rounds. Even where we only had two in the sections this was happening.
Despite some negatives there were many positives and the way our fighters conducted themselves was a credit to Dokan.
